As you are no doubt aware the British Government has rescinded the Reciprocal Health Agreement with the Isle of Man. Our Manx Government was informed that as from 1st April 2010 ( next year ), this will no longer be in effect. However the Government had done nothing since they were informed of this eventuality in October last year. 

One year later on October 20th, at the next Tynwald, the Minister for Health and Social Security Mr Eddie Teare will present the Court with his department’s deliberations. He will say that it is up to the Manx people to get their own insurance, but if they have no insurance when travelling to the UK, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland and are unfortunate enough to be taken into hospital you will have to pay for the expenses you incur in hospital.
